Inmate Mail

Inmate Mail can be sent to:

Mail that is accepted:
  • All hand written or typed letters, maximum of 10 pages
  • Postcards and greeting cards (see mail that is not accepted regarding cards)
  • 5 photographs no larger than 5 x 7” – if you would see it at the beach, it’s acceptable
  • Some article clippings
  • Printed articles
  • Magazines/Newspapers – by subscription only
  • Books *soft cover – direct from distributor only (Amazon etc. ) - NO MORE THAN 3 BOOKS PER INMATE – inmates can donate books if they would like more books ordered
  • Money orders
  • Colored pictures – crayon, colored pencils, or marker – WILL BE COPIED and given to inmate. Originals will be disposed of for safety of inmate and staff.
Mail items that are not accepted:
  • Inmate to inmate mail – direct or via intermediary
  • Blank stationary/stamped envelopes
  • Excessive photos (more than 5)
  • Polaroid photos
  • Anything that has: Staples, Paperclips, Stickers, Cardboard or laminated cards, Tape, Glue, Paint, Whiteout, Glitter (cards with glitter will be returned), Perfume/cologne, Foreign substance of any kind, Lipstick and String or ribbon.

* Any mail items that are not accepted will be returned to sender and the inmate notified.

INMATES CAN PURCHASE ENVELOPES AND WRITING MATERIALS ON THE COMMISSARY MENU, AND IF INDIGENT MAY REQUEST FROM THE CHAPLAIN.
