Inmate Phone Calls

Upon incarceration inmates will have an opportunity to add funds to their trust accounts that may be used to purchase phone time.  Friends and Family may also create and add funds to prepaid accounts to communicate with someone who is incarcerated.

Inmates have the capability to call you from jail by simply dialing your phone number. When receiving a call, you should first hear an announcement from an automated voice, such as "You are receiving a call from [inmate name], an inmate at the Grand Traverse County Jail. Press one (1) to accept."

All inmates including those who do not have calling funds will receive three free 5-minute phone calls upon admission to the jail. These calls are intended to allow the inmate to contact family and friends to advise of their location or to seek legal resources.

PREPAID PHONE ACCOUNTS

Family and Friends can set up prepaid accounts:

  • Family and friends are able to set up prepaid accounts from outside the facility by calling CPC customer service at 1-877-998-5678 or on-line at www.inmatesales.com.
  • Family and friends can utilize a kiosk located in the jail lobby, to deposit money on an inmate's commissary account to place phone calls.  Account deposits will be subject to fees and financial policies of the facility.  To learn more CLICK HERE.

  • Minimum purchase required and fees apply.

Blocking Unwanted Calls

If you do not wish to receive calls from inmates, you may call Combined Public Communication at 1-877-998-5678 (from a phone attached to the number that you wish to have blocked). A live operator will help prevent inmates from being able to call the number in the future.  You may also contact the facility during regular business hours for assistance.
