Towed Vehicles

Depending on where you parked your vehicle, it may have been towed for several reasons.

Parking on Private Property

If you left your vehicle on private property, the property owner has the right to have the vehicle towed at your expense and is not required to notify you.

Snow Removal on Streets

If you parked on the street in the City of Traverse city November 16th-April 14th, it may have been towed for snow removal reasons. The Traverse City website states: "Please remember that from November 16 through the following April 14 of each year, vehicles found parked on any street or alley between the hours of 3 - 6 a.m. may be towed away at the owner’s expense."

Snow Removal on Streets Outside of City Limits

If you parked on the roadway outside of the City limits December 1st-March 31st,  it may have also been towed for snow removal reasons. The Grand Traverse County Road Commission website states: "No person shall park any vehicle in or upon a roadway or shoulder of a roadway or street in Grand Traverse County from December 1 - March 31 of the following year between the hours of Midnight - 8 a.m. and snow emergencies.
