Special Events

The Senior Center Network is involved in many special/community events throughout the county.  We are able to participate in these special events, thanks to the help of countless volunteers.  If you would like to find out more about becoming a volunteer, please see our volunteers page.  
 

Veteran’s Appreciation Event - Hometown Heroes

This event is to show appreciation to the Senior Center Network member veterans.  Date to be announced. 



Assisted Living Home Tours


  • Offered Spring and Fall 
  • Free
When its time for seniors to move out of their homes, learn about the choices available in our area. Full day of touring 3-5 local assisted living establishments, led by a senior housing specialist who knows the properties and can address all your questions about senior housing. The Senior Housing checklist is distributed, giving you a tool to use when comparing different housing options. Bus transportation, snacks along the way; no lunch. Family members are welcome to join along with you. Advance registration required.

Cherry Festival Activities - Senior Events

The Senior Center is hosting a Very Cherry Bingo and Very Cherry Euchre in 2023.  More information to follow.

AARP Tax Assistance
During the months of February, March and April - volunteers from AARP assist senior citizens in completing simple tax returns, at no charge, through the Senior Center Network.

Qualifications
To qualify to have your taxes completed:
  • You must be of low or middle income
  • You must have a simple tax return to complete
