Definition

Probation, which is granted by the judge, is a sentence that allows the offender to live in the community under the supervision of a probation officer.

Probation Officers

In Grand Traverse County, the 86th District Court has 3.6 FTE Probation Officers, along with 1.7 FTE Probation Officers serving the intensive Recovery Court.  Antrim and Leelanau Counties both have 1 full time Probation Officer. The average general probation caseload consists of approximately 180 people.
