Scheduling Requirements
The 911 / Central Dispatch Center is a 24-hour department, with 12-hour shifts. There is no guarantee on shift assignment or how long an employee will spend on a particular shift. Shifts and schedules are granted by seniority, which may be changed when departmental scheduling requires. There will be required overtime that at times will be ordered/forced. Here are some typical shift times.
Dispatcher 12-Hour Shifts
  • Day: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Night: 7 p.m. - 7 a.m.
Supervisor 12-Hour Shifts
  • Day: 6 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Night: 6 p.m. - 6 a.m.
