Underwater ROV

An underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) is a mobile robot designed for aquatic work environments. Remote control is usually carried out through copper or fiber optic cables. These cables transmit command and control signals between the operator and the ROV, allowing remote navigation of the vehicle. The tethering cable additionally allows for a video signal to be sent to the operator. The high quality and low light capabilities of the attached camera allows for the operator to locate and identify targets in poorest of water conditions. Our Outland 2000 ROV was manufactured by a company in Louisiana known as Outland Technology.

Members of our ROV team have specialized training in the area of operating submersibles. They are called upon to assist our dive team and marine division on varying missions. The ROV team trains on a regular basis with our dive team.
