About the Department


The mission of the human resources department is to support the goals and challenges of Grand Traverse County by providing services that promote a work environment that is characterized by fair treatment of employees, open communication, personal accountability, trust, and mutual respect. We will seek and provide solutions to workplace issues that support and optimize the operating principles of the County, as well as embrace change and the opportunity it brings.

The Grand Traverse County Human Resources Department provides comprehensive services to 28 operating departments, more than 500 employees of Grand Traverse County, and the public at large.
