Election Equipment & Security

Grand Traverse County Public Accuracy Testing

Prior to each election all electronic tabulating equipment must be tested to verify that 1) the equipment is performing properly, 2) the ballots have been properly prepared for each precinct, and 3) that the programs will accurately count votes.

The procedures reflect the requirements established by Michigan Election Law (MCL 168.1 - 168.992) and the Electronic Voting Systems Promulgated Rules (R 168.771 - 168.793).  The schedule for these tests will be posted prior to each election in Grand Traverse County.

Our Relationship with Election Systems & Software

Beginning with the 2018 Election Cycle, the Grand Traverse County Clerk began the use of Election Systems & Software as the exclusive provider for optical scan and touch screen accessible voting systems in Grand Traverse County.  This exciting partnership provides Grand Traverse County citizens with the very best and most secure election technology available.

Please view the videos below to see a preview of the equipment to be utilized in the polling locations.  The DS200 is the ballot scanner & vote tabulator and the ExpressVote is the ADA compliant voter assist technology.
